The Friends bookstore is open to the community during most library hours for the purchase of used books, magazines and mixed media.
The bookstore’s revenues are used to meet the goal of augmenting and maintaining the library collections and making library improvements.
The Friends Bookstore is managed and run by all volunteers. The current manager is always looking for volunteers to work in the bookstore. You can have a regular weekly schedule or be on the substitute list.
Everything that is sold in the Friends Bookstore has been donated by the public. We appreciate your generosity. You can donate during library hours.
Volunteer at the Bookstore
“Volunteers are not paid – not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.” -unknown
Volunteers can work in the library. They assist patrons in the stacks, sort and shelve library materials, support staff with programs, and take on special projects.
The Friends Bookstore is completely managed and run by volunteers. As a Bookstore volunteer you can have a weekly schedule or you can be on the substitute list to help.
Volunteers in the library and the Bookstore must fill out the Charlotte County Volunteer application. The library staff will submit the application and once approved, you will be notified to come in and be trained.
The library depends on the volunteers to keep our library functioning!
